Why I stand behind Elvua?
Summer. Friends want to hit the lake. And I’m sitting there thinking about when I last shaved, whether the redness is gone, whether you can see the stubble in my bikini area when I get out of the water — while everyone else just packed their swimsuits.
That was me at 19, 20, and 21.
I tried everything out there. Wax strips that hurt and grew back in two weeks anyway. A $300 IPL device that irritated my skin so badly I got more bumps than before. Ingrown hairs in my bikini area that were darker and more stubborn than the hair itself. I stopped counting how much money and time it all cost.
I didn’t want a miracle product. I just wanted to be able to say yes when someone spontaneously asks if I’m coming along.
That’s why I helped build Elvua. Because the product I needed simply didn’t exist.
My doctor explained what PCOS does to my cycle. What it does to my skin — I had to figure that out alone.
PCOS doesn’t just mean cysts and cycle problems. For many women it means: daily shaving. Darker, thicker hair caused by elevated androgens. Methods that work for other women — and look like you did nothing after two weeks.
I don’t know this from studies. I know it from seven years of living it every single day.
My doctor prescribed Metformin and stabilized my cycle. We never talked about the hair. So I started researching on my own — active ingredients, follicle mechanisms, what hormonally driven hair growth really means and why standard solutions fail.
The problem with almost everything on the market: it’s developed for women without a hormonal background.
That’s why I co-founded Elvua. Not as a quick fix. But as a formula that actually addresses what’s happening beneath the surface.
I didn’t want to keep explaining why I always wear long sleeves in summer.
For me it was never about the bikini area. It was my arms. My upper lip. The fine dark hair on my stomach that nobody talks about — but everyone notices.
I spent years hiding. Long sleeves in July. Always checking the mirror before leaving the house. Canceling plans because I didn’t feel ready.
The worst part wasn’t the hair. It was the shame.
When Ashley and Sabrina told me about their idea, I knew immediately: this is what I’ve been waiting for. Not another razor subscription. Not another painful appointment. Something that actually slows down regrowth — quietly, gently, over time.
